Searing smoke.  Searing fires.

Ashen dreams on funeral pyres.

Loosey rules by goosey liars.

Evil burns. Flaming spires.

We can see ya.

We can feel ya.

We can hear ya.

Comin’ near, ya.

We can smell ya.

We can tell ya.

Lordy, mercy.

Back to Hell, ya.

These are questions worth the answering.

It’s a time whose time has come.

What on earth do you see happening?

What-all about it can be done?

. . . . .

Leave us be our own lives long,

Go away, leave us alone.

Don’t need help tellin’ hours.

Don’t be forcin’ us from ours.

We stood upon the mountaintop.

We sat by sea below.

We know there’s truth in each.

We know, God tells us so.

From on high, we saw forever,

But could not stride across.

We’ll hug those memories mighty dear,

Sublime in saddest loss.

At seas' shores, low and long,

Life’s waters showed us peace.

Rippling ebbs and flows – a song

Of renewal and release.

Time shows, our circles close,

And we shall sail that sea.

And together stride high peaks with ease

For e-ter-ni-ty.
