“O, the Lord of Law on the
Throne of Thought, A gilded impostor is he. Of shreds and patches his robes are
wrought, His crown is brass, Himself an ass, And his power is fiddle-dee-dee.
Prankily, crankily prating of naught, Silly old quilly old Monarch of Thought.
Public opinion's camp-follower he, Thundering, blundering, plundering free.
Affected, Ungracious, Suspected, Mendacious, Respected contemporaree! --J. H.
Bumbleshook” by Ambrose Gwinnett Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary, orig.
1906
“But I am a blasted tree;
the bolt has entered my soul; and I felt then that I should survive to exhibit
what I shall soon cease to be - a miserable spectacle of wrecked humanity,
pitiable to others and intolerable to myself.”
Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley

It is a liar’s pride that he is not caught. ~ “It is a beggar’s pride that he is
not a thief” [Japanese proverb]. ~ It is a thief’s pride that he, too, is not
caught. Moral: For appearances, beg; advantage: liars and thieves. ~

There was, to ’Fork’s mind, a spectacle of
such supremity this week as to tear-up even Lady Liberty. ’Fork believes
that we were begged, badgered, and bullied repeatedly to embrace a ‘jobs bill’
albeit unwritten, of deeply faulted lineage, farting more fiat flatulence into
the paper money bubble.
For the ‘good of the country?’ No. For
fiscal repair? No. For monetary repair? No. For the chil’run? No. For
national security interest? No. For progressing life, liberty, and the
HAPPINESS? No. For votes? What's not. For the love of God?
Whose? For the
love of Bo-Bo?* Yes. For the narcissist-in-charge? Yes.
Big huggers.
* Bo-Bo and Bo are short
for Barack Hussein Obama II and may be pronounced (in the singular reference) as
‘boe’ or ‘boo’ depending on which seems more respectful to you. [Ed.: Whereas,
Bo-Bo may cozen or covet a messianic mien or more, that myth now sputters and
chokes, hunting in vain for the honor of it all . . . in the end, for any of it.]
Bo-Bo's Barney moment . . .
“Not for the first time,
Obama called back to an audience member who shouted ‘I love you’ with ‘I love
you back.’
“. . . ‘. . . if you love
me you've got to help me pass this bill.’
. . . “ ‘Give me a win?
Give me a break,’ Obama said.”
‘Fork cries, his beloved country.
“Obama: 'If you love me,
you've got to help me pass this bill' ” By Alicia M. Cohn, The Hill,

PS: Of lesser moment by national measure, of
no less a moment by the pathetic and the pitiable . . .
“The [Ed.: Egyptian-born immigrant] mayor of
a New Jersey town apologizes for a 9/11 memorial that contained the names of
politicians, not victims, and promises to replace it.”

Inscribed With Names of Politicians, Not Victims” [Ed.: Reportedly, there were
no 9/11 physical victims from this county’s township] By Brian Thompson, NBC
