Pitchfork’s survival hierarchy of needs

Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs has merits of sorts to us and ours in these and meaner days maybe to come.

To survive and succeed, the rank order of important needs – a sequence dependence, a fixed arrangement – may be not of humanity at-large, but of humanity person by person. 

In the major moments of a lifetime: 

get it right, then you go on;

get it wrong, and you go back or go bye-bye.

What if manmade major moments might be just ahead for us?

Hope and change are neither objectives, nor strategies,

nor tactics, nor action plans, nor rationales. 

They’re banal blather,

the mantra of malcontents, miscreants, manics, and maniacs.

Theoretically, clinically, it may be so – this sequence-dependent hierarchy of human needs.  In the early years, this grist might mill.  In later years, in reality on Planet Earth, in Pitchfork’s opinion, a hierarchy of needs is neither necessarily generalizable nor necessarily hierarchical. 

Tick ‘em off from the most basic:  physiological; safety; love/belonging; esteem; and self-actualization.  The order, nay, even the litany’s content is writ personally.  Everyone’s each one is in there somewhere; none is exactly so for all.  Start with Maslow's schema, and then make it your own for making it, for succeeding at survival.

Especially atop the need’s heap, self-actualized, motive performance to protect and perfect may be selected from among the heaps’ strata.  Even short of the needs’ peak, living eventuates, ready or not.
