This definition may be kept in mind as the basis for all of Pitchfork's comments and conclusions regarding personal security management.  The one point in the definition that may be more difficult to gather up than the others is the notion of a 'closed system'; namely, Pitchfork reckons a 'one-stop-shop' for use of a security management tool obliges simplicity, durability, and extents of 'proofness', e.g., weatherproof, vaporproof, drop-proof, breakproof, etc.  Writ clearly - if it's not good-to-go when it's need - wherever, however, ever-ever - it's not good.  Compromises to reality are withstanding, but poorly tolerated and energetically eschewed.  The major security management process to rid that tolerance is the analytic hierarchy that you'll see elsewhere here under the security analysis tools laid out in  lists of qualifications and comparisons and grids of segmentation, etc.

Pitchfork’s seeking out and sorting through info on personal security management tools and equipment has proven to be a lot of work, especially culling out the majority of nonsense, bloviation, and opinionation from been-there-done-that guidance.  A precedent structure to form up inquiry and replies has been priceless, and that structure is included variously herewith - assumptions, grids, and the like. 

So, what about survival guns, knives, and other equipment relative to close, personal security?  Lots.  And Pitchfork’s worked to simplify for him and his.  He expects you’ll take some of his stuff directly off the webpage, and make up more of your own by using his decision screens and schema.  Eventually, it’s not his or about him; it’s yours and about you.  Yours and you.
